It has grown into a MongoDB Company and MongoDB community. The company was founded by Eliot Horowitz, Dwight Merriman, Kevin Ryan, and Geir Magnusson, jr. in November 2007. The company was formerly known as 10gen, Inc, changing its name to Mongo, Inc. in 2013.

The company MongoDB, Inc. engages in the development and provision of the MongoDB database platform and integrated suite of services. MongoDB is a general purpose database platform that enables developers to build and modernize application across a rang of use cases.

One of the company’s key offerings includes MongoDB Enterprise Advanced, a commercial database server for enterprise customers. Another is MongoDB Atlas, a hosted cloud database-as-a-service solution. The company also offers professional services including consulting and training
